Review: Milwaukee 2799-22CX – Best cordless impact driver/drill combo

Milwaukee 2799-22CX packed inside this beautiful red box (on the photo below), which is abundantly covered with various information – a description of the product, advertising of brushless motors, the advantage of their systems and a brief overview of the M18 line. The instrument comes without a hard case so everything is packed tightly in the box and sealed with cardboard inserts.

Milwaukee 2799-22CX unboxing

With Milwaukee 2799-22CX you will get 2 batteries – 2Ah and 4Ah. They have protection from moisture and from impacts. Batteries have a convenient indication in comparison with HILTI SFC-22A on which it is necessary to press both clips of the battery here it is enough to press the button next to the scale of the level of the charge.

The battery charge lasts really long time, where the HILTI with 3.3Ah battery asked to be charged. Milwaukee with 2Ah battery continued to work with 50% of charge left. The intensity of use was almost the same on both devices. The batteries charging very quickly the 2Ah was charged in about 40 minutes, and the 4Ah in about 1h 15m but we must take into account that the batteries had a small remaining charge about 15-20%.

The weight of the batteries is decent 2Ah is 427g and 4Ah is 717g. Inside the Redlithium battery pack are 5 or 10 pieces of 18650 batteries.

Milwaukee 2702-20 M18 Specification

This tool lies perfectly in the hand even with the big 4 Ah battery does not slip and feels balanced. The handle is rubberized the body has rubberized inserts. Milwaukee 2799-22CX has excellent quality.

The reducer and the chuck made of the high-quality steel which is very encouraging. Everything is well made and there are no backlashes the build quality is at a high altitude even though now it is assembled in China. The adjustment of the speed is so precise that I even could tap the thread with this tool. The power is good the RPM are easily controlled by pressing the button.

Drilling operations

Lighting on this Milwaukee tool is not very good in the driver mode due to the long chuck design.

Lighting of the Milwaukee in the driver mode

Lighting is much better in the drilling mode.

And of course, I didn’t ignore the hammer drill function. Either the walls are too strong or this function is good only on aerated concrete or a brick. I drilled the concrete wall of the panel house the experiment involved the Makita HR2455 hammer drill with 0-4500 BPM. Results on the video below:

Specifications of the Milwaukee 2750-20

This is the first tool of this type that I ever used and I will say – I’m delighted. Twisting the screws in a metal is a pleasure twisting huge screws into a wood is very easy. It is almost impossible to find anything around the house that this tool can’t handle.

Milwaukee 2750-20 disassembly:

Milwaukee inside the tool review

Milwaukee disassembly

The circuit board and brushless motor occupy very little space the reducer takes up most of the space, which I was afraid to disassemble because from childhood I did not always manage to assembly back what I have disassembled. 🙂 The circuit board is lacquered and the soldering points of the wires are glued for reliability.

Illumination of this impact driver is pleasing and even with the shortest bit the lighting is very good:

The bit/adapter is fixed by two balls.

To remove pull the retaining ring.

Let’s see if we can change the car tires with Milwaukee impact driver.

Carrying bag

Milwaukee 2799-22CX comes with this beautiful and comfortable bag. Two tools and a box with adapter bits are gently stuck into it.

Milwaukee 2799-22CX comes with the bag

The bag has a metal frame around the perimeter of the “neck” and can be closed with the zipper.

And the bag folds into a “sandwich” that doesn’t take to much space even with the tools inside.

The End.
